In the November 2022 election, right-wing extremists were successful in winning some school board seats—particularly in school districts where more traditional candidates didn’t understand the challenge they faced. But in quite a few places candidates understood the challenge and were ready and able to face down the extremists. They weren’t always successful, but they were successful often enough that we can take heart: when supporters of public education are prepared and ready, they can win. This forum is for school board candidates and their supporters to share information, strategies, and tactics. We want to hear from those of you who won—and those of you who lost. We need to understand what works, what doesn’t, and what more needs to happen in the next election cycle. So please share your experiences.
